Polyimide (Kapton / PI / BGA) Tape

High-temperature green PET polyester masking tapes, including log rolls, precision slit coils, and die-cut masking discs with silicone adhesive for powder coating and PCB plating.

Amber-colored polyimide film coated with high-grade cross-linked silicone adhesive (also available with antistatic ESD coating). Known across the industry as Kapton tape, PI film tape, or BGA rework tape, this material withstands extreme thermal reflow and wave soldering without shrinkage or adhesive ghosting.

  • Thickness Variations: 0.05 mm (1 mil film), 0.06 mm, 0.08 mm (2 mil), 0.12 mm (5 mil)
  • Performance: Dielectric strength up to 6.5 kV, flame retardant (UL94 V-0)
  • Primary Uses: SMT gold finger masking, BGA rework thermal isolation, lithium battery pack tab wrapping, transformer Class H insulation

POWDER COATING & PLATING (UP TO 200°C–220°C)

Green High-Temp Polyester (PET) Tape

High-temperature green PET polyester masking tapes, including log rolls, precision slit coils, and die-cut masking discs with silicone adhesive for powder coating and PCB plating.

Conformable green polyester film backed with heat-resistant silicone adhesive. Delivers sharp, micro-precise paint lines with high tear resistance, standing up to aggressive chemical baths and high-bake ovens.

  • Thickness Options: 0.05 mm, 0.06 mm, and 0.08 mm heavy-duty calipers
  • Key Advantage: Sharp demarcation edge, chemical resistance to anodizing and acid plating baths
  • Primary Uses: Electrostatic powder coating, PCB gold finger electroplating, e-coating, metal anodizing

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Kapton, PI, and BGA tapes identical?

Yes. “Kapton” is DuPont’s trademark for polyimide (PI) film. In electronics repair, technicians commonly refer to amber polyimide tape as “BGA tape” due to its widespread use in BGA rework.

Does the tape leave silicone residue after high bake?

No. We formulate our high-temperature tapes with fully cured, cross-linked silicone adhesives designed for 100% clean peeling after 260°C wave solder or 200°C powder coating cycles.

When should I choose Green PET over Kapton?

Choose Green PET when maximum bake temperatures stay under 200°C–220°C (e.g., powder coating or electroplating). It offers sharper paint demarcation lines and higher cost efficiency than Polyimide.

What payment methods and currencies do you accept?

We support standard USD T/T (SWIFT wire transfers) for global accounts. In addition, to help international buyers minimize SWIFT intermediary bank charges and transfer delays, we provide local domestic bank collections across most European and North American regions (supporting local transfers in EUR via SEPA, GBP, USD, and other major European currencies).

Need Custom Slit Widths or Die-Cut Masking Shapes?

Send us your target bake temperatures, required slit widths, or CAD drawing (.DXF, .DWG, .PDF). Our engineering team will supply material recommendations, rapid samples, and quotes within 24 hours.
